Coca-Cola is the most popular and best-selling soft drink in history, as well as one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Coca-Cola was created in 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia. It was invented by Dr. John S. Pemberton. Coca-Cola was first offered at a drinking fountain in Jacobs´ Pharmacy, where Coca-Cola syrup and carbonated water were mixed together. Coca-Cola was patented in 1887, trademarked in 1893, and by 1895 was available in all U.S. states and territories. In 1899, The Coca-Cola Company began selling beverage bottling franchises in the United States, and in 1906, Coca-Cola bottling began expanding to international markets.
